१. विद्यालयको परिचय बित्थडचिर गा.पा. वडा न. ९ स्थित यो सुनकुडा माध्यमिक विद्यालय नेपाल सरकार द्वारा समय समयमा निर्माण गरि कार्यान्वयनमा ल्याइएका शिक्षा ऐन तथा नियमावलीबाट तोकिएको परिधि भित्र रहि समय समयमा बिभिन्न तहको स्वीकृति एवम सम्बन्धन प्राप्त गरी बिभिन्न समयाबधिमा बिभिन्न चरण पार गर्दै स्थापित एक सेवामुलक अथवा नाफा रहित सामुदायिक माध्यमिक विद्यालय हो। यस विद्यालयमा पुर्बप्राथमिक कक्षा देखि १२ सम्मको औपचारिक शिक्षाको कार्यक्रम संचालनमा रहनुका साथै बि.स. २०७६ सालको शैक्षिक सत्र देखि प्राबिधिक धार Computer Engineering (९-१२) पनि सुरू गरी हाल निरन्तर रूपमा पठनपाठन कार्य संचालन भईरहेको छ। यस विद्यालयलाई बि.स. २०७४/०३/२९ गते नेपाल सरकार शिक्षा मन्त्रालयवाट नमुना विद्यालय अन्तर्गत छनोट गरी विद्यालयको शैक्षिक र भौतिक गुणस्तर विकासकालागि नेपाल सरकार शिक्षा मन्त्रालयले प्रत्येक वर्ष निश्चित रकम अनुदान गर्ने गरको छ, र सोहि वमोजिम हामीले विद्यालयका लच्छित पक्षहरूलाई सुधारात्मक दिशातिर अगाडी बढाएका थियौँ । आ.ब. २०८१/०८२ सालदेखि विज्ञान विषय प्रबद्धनका लागि शिक्षा तथा मानव स्रोत विकास केन्द्रले छनोट गरी ५ बर्षसम्म निश्चित रकम सशर्त बजेटको रुपमा प्राप्त गर्दै आएको छ । २. ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि बझाङ जिल्लाको यस वित्थडचिर क्षेत्रमा हाल छ वटा माध्यमिक विद्यालय र २० वटा प्रा.बि. एवम ७ वटा नि.मा.विहरु सञ्चालनमा रहेका छन् भने यस सुनकुडा मा.बि को शुरूको अवस्थाको सुनकुडा प्राइमरी स्कुल स्थापना हुनु पुर्व यस वृहत क्षेत्रमा एक पनि विद्यालय थिएन जसको कारण यहाँका जनताहरू शिक्षाको उज्यालो बाट पुर्ण रूपमा बञ्चित थिए। कोही हुने खानेहरू भारत तिर गएर सामान्य शिक्षा हाँसिल गर्थे भने कोही आफ्नो घरमै पढाउने मानिस खोजी ल्याएर आफ्ना छोरा छोरीलाई सामान्य शिक्षा दिने गर्दथे। पछि बिस्तारै यहाँका स्थानिय बासीहरूमा शिक्षाको महत्व बारे चेतना हुन थालेपछि आफुहरू शिक्षाको ज्योतिबाट बन्चित हुनु परेको दुखद अवस्था आफ्ना सन्ततिहरूमा नआओस भनि तत्कालिन राज्यको शिक्षा ब्यवस्थाका सम्पुर्ण बिधि तथा प्रक्रिया पालना गरी सोहि राज्य ब्यवस्थाका बिधिन्न तहहरूमा धाएर बिद्यालय खोल्न चाहिने अनुमति प्राप्त गरी बि.स. २०१७ सालमा सुनकुडा प्राइमरी स्कुल नाम दिइ यस विद्यालयको स्थापना गरे जसको कारण यो बिद्यालय आजको बिकसित अवस्थामा पुग्न सफल भएको छ। यस क्रममा तत्कालीन समयमा अनवरत रूपमा खटेका शिक्षक जनकलाल अवस्थी, जगत बहादुर मल्ल, तथा अभिभावकहरूमा नरी दत्त जोशी, गोरख ब. बिष्ट, दिलिप ब. मल्ल, गजेन्द्र ब. मल्ल, शिवदत्त जोशी, धौले बिष्ट, विर सिंह बोहरा, जयभान नाथ, दधि स्याडा, देव दत्त अवस्थी लगायतका अग्रजहरूको ठुलो योगदान रहेको छ। बि.स. २०१७ सालमा तत्कालीन नेपाल सरकारबाट रु.११०० वार्षिक अनुदान पाउने गरी सुनकुडा प्राइमरी स्कुलको स्थापना भयो। बि.स. २०३२/०८/२९ गते बाट बिभिन्न बाधा अवरोध हरू छिचोल्दै उक्त प्राइमरी स्कुल नि.मा.बि स्कुलको रूपमा स्थापित हुन सफल भयो। यसैगरी बि.स. २०३९/१२/२२ गतेका दिन तत्कालीन प्र.अ. जनकलाल अवस्थी ज्यूको अग्रसरतामा विद्यालय सेवा क्षेत्र भित्रका स्थानीय बासीहरू बाट चन्दा संकलन गरी मा.बि को स्वीकृती प्राप्त गरे। त्यसैगरी २०६०/३/१७ गते तत्कालिन उच्च शिक्षा परिषदबाट उच्च मा.बि. संचालन गर्ने अनुमति प्राप्त गरेका थिए । ३. भौगोलिक अवस्था समुन्द्रि सतह बाट १३०० मि. को उचाईमा रहेको यो सुनकुडा मा.बि नेपाल सुदुरपश्चिन प्रदेशको बझाङ जिल्ला अन्तरगत वित्थडचिर गा.पा. वडा नं.९ सुनकुडामा अवस्थित छ। चारैतिर डाँडाहरूले घेरीयर रहेको यस विद्यालयले उपयोग गरेको जमिनको क्षेत्रफल २७ रोपनी छ। जसमध्ये ५ रोपनी क्षेत्रफल विद्यालयको भौतिक संरचनाले ओगटेको छ भने २२ रोपनी खुल्ला जग्गाको रूपमा रहेको छ। यहाँको हावा पानी ठन्डा समातितोष्ण खालको छ। हिउँदमा ज्यादै चिसो हुन्छ भने बर्षायाममा मध्यमखालको हावापानी हुने गर्दछ। यसको पश्चिमी र दक्षिण दिशामा बैतडी जिल्ला पर्दछ र यस विद्यालयमा धेरैजसो विद्यार्थीहरू बैतडी जिल्लाबाट पढ्न आउने गर्दछन। यस बिद्यालयको अगाडी पट्टिको डाडामा हरीयाली घनो जंगल छ। र यस जंगलमा बिभिन्न किसिमका जंगली बनस्पतीका साथै यो जंगल धेरै प्रकारका जंगली जनावरहरूको बासस्थान भयकोले यो विद्यालयको सुन्दर्ता झन थपिएको छ। ४. विद्यालय रहेको समुदायको बनावट यस वद्यालयको वरपर रहेको समुदायमा विभिन्न जात जातीका मानिसहरूको बसोबास रहेको छ। बित्थडचिर गा.पा. ७,८ र ९ को मानब बस्तीहरूको गलभग बिच भागमा र बैतडीको सिगास गा.पा. बाट पनि नजिकको दुरीमा रहेको छ। यस विद्यालयको सेवाक्षेत्र वरीपरी बाहुन, दलित, ठकुरी र क्षेत्री प्राय सबै खालका जातजाति हरूको बसोबास रहेको छ। यस क्षेत्रमा बसोबास गर्ने अधिकांश मानिसहरूको आर्थिक अवस्था न्यून स्तरको रहेकोले अधिकांश समयमा विद्यालयमा अध्ययनरत छात्र/छात्रा हरूले घरमा बिभिन्न खालका काम गरेर समय बिताउनुपर्ने अवस्था भयकोले विद्यार्थीहरूले पठनपाठन कार्यमा धेरै उपलब्धि हाँसिल गर्न कठिन भयको देखिन्छ। ५. विद्यालयको भौतिक अवस्था हाम्रो यस सुनकुडा मा.बि. मा साना ठुला गरी जम्मा १३ वटा विद्यालयका भवन र १ छात्रबास रहेको छ। जसमा कोठासंख्या जम्मा ३० छन्। जसमध्य १ कोठामा विज्ञान प्रयोगसाला, २ वटा हलमा कम्प्यूटर ल्याब जसमा लागभग ७६ थान कम्प्यूटर जडित छन्। शिक्षक हरूलाइ प्रति शिक्षक १ ओटा ल्याप्टप उपलब्ध गराईएको छ। बिद्धुत गएको अबस्थामा कम्प्यूटर संचालनमा ल्याउन ठुलो क्षमताको सोलार का साथै १ थान २२० भोल्टको यू.पी. एस उपलब्ध छन् । त्यसैगरी ४ वटा कोठाहरू प्रशासनीक कामकाज र स्टापहरूको लागी छुट्याइएको छ। २ कोठामा बिबिध सामाग्रिहरूको लागी गोदाम बनाइएको छ भने बाकी सबै कोठाहरूमा कक्षा संचालन गर्ने गरिएको छ र कक्षाहरू निरन्तर संचालन गर्नको लागि केहि थप कक्षाकोठाहरूको आवश्यकता रहेको देखिन्छ। यस विद्यालयमा १ खनेपनीको धारो, २/२ छात्र तथा छात्रा चर्पीहरू रहेका छन् । हिमाली आवाशिय छात्रबास अन्तरगत नेपाल सरकारले छनोटमा पारेर प्रतेक बर्ष निश्चित अनुदान उपलब्ध गराइने छत्रबासमा निःशुल्क खान बस्न गरिब, बिपन्न तथा जेहन्दार २० जना बिद्यार्थी, १ जना शिक्षक (वाडेन) र १ जना भान्से बस्ने गरेका छन्। बिद्यालयमा झन्डै २० रोपनिको एउटा खेल मैदान पनि रहेको छ, जसमा बिद्यार्थीलाई बिभिन्न किसिमका खेलहरू खेलाईन्छन्।
Located in Biththadchir Rural Municipality, Ward No. 9, Sunakuda Secondary School is a non-profit community-based institution established within the framework of the Education Act and regulations periodically enacted by the Government of Nepal. The school has gradually obtained approvals and affiliations at different levels over time. It currently runs formal education programs from pre-primary to Grade 12. Since the academic session of 2076 B.S., the school has also introduced a technical stream in Computer Engineering (Grades 9–12), which continues to operate. On 2074/03/29 B.S., the Ministry of Education selected this school as a “Model School,” providing annual grants to enhance educational and physical quality. Similarly, from the fiscal year 2081/082, the Center for Education and Human Resource Development has selected the school for science subject promotion, granting conditional budget support for five years.
In Biththadchir of Bajhang district, there are now six secondary schools, twenty primary schools, and seven lower secondary schools. However, before the establishment of Sunakuda Primary School, there was no school in this vast area, leaving the local people deprived of education. Some affluent families sent their children to India for basic education, while others hired private tutors at home. Gradually, awareness of the importance of education grew among the locals, and to prevent future generations from facing the same deprivation, they followed the state’s educational procedures and obtained permission to establish a school. Thus, in 2017 B.S., Sunakuda Primary School was founded, which has since developed into its present state. Teachers such as Janakalal Awasthi and Jagat Bahadur Malla, along with guardians like Nari Datt Joshi, Gorakh B. Bista, Dilip B. Malla, Gajendra B. Malla, Shivdatt Joshi, Dhaule Bista, Bir Singh Bohara, Jayabhan Nath, Dadhi Syada, and Dev Datt Awasthi, made significant contributions during this period.
In 2017 B.S., the Government of Nepal provided an annual grant of Rs. 1100 for the school. On 2032/08/29 B.S., overcoming various obstacles, the primary school was upgraded to a lower secondary school. Later, on 2039/12/22 B.S., under the leadership of Headmaster Janakalal Awasthi, funds were collected from local residents to obtain approval for secondary-level operation. On 2060/03/17 B.S. the Higher Education Council granted permission to run higher secondary classes.
Situated at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level, Sunakuda Secondary School lies in Ward No. 9 of Biththadchir Rural Municipality, Bajhang district, Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal. The school occupies 27 ropani of land, of which 5 ropani is covered by physical infrastructure and 22 ropani remains open space. The climate is cool temperate, with very cold winters and moderate monsoon conditions. To the west and south lies Baitadi district, from where many students come to study. In front of the school is a lush green forest, home to diverse plant species and wildlife, adding to the school’s natural beauty.
The surrounding community consists of diverse ethnic groups, including Brahmin, Dalit, Thakuri, and Chhetri. The school serves populations from Wards 7, 8, and 9 of Biththadchir Rural Municipality, as well as nearby areas of Sigash Rural Municipality in Baitadi. Most residents have low economic status, and students often spend time helping with household work, which makes academic achievement more challenging.
Sunakuda Secondary School has 13 buildings and one hostel, with a total of 30 rooms. Among these, one room is a science laboratory, and two halls serve as computer labs equipped with around 76 computers. Each teacher has been provided with a laptop. To ensure uninterrupted computer operation during power outages, the school has installed a large solar system and a 220-volt UPS. Four rooms are allocated for administrative work and staff, while two rooms serve as storage. The remaining rooms are used for classrooms, though additional classrooms are still needed. The school has one drinking water tap and separate toilets for boys and girls. The hostel, selected under the Himalayan Residential Program by the Government of Nepal, provides free food and lodging for 20 underprivileged and diligent students, along with one warden and one cook. The school also has a playground of about 20 ropani, where students engage in various sports.
